I've a T420 (model 4180AT9). Originally it has a wifi card N 6205 and a bluetooth card (under the keyboard if I well understood). With the N 6205 I able to see 2,4 and 5 GHz network. As my router support wifi AC I bought an Intel AC 7260HMW card. I replaced the BIOS by a mod BIOS without whitelist.
I putted a tape on pin 51 allowing the bluetooth to work. So at this point the wifi and the bluetooth are well detected with linux or windows 10.
My problem is with the 5 GHz wifi which is not working. I see only the 2.4 GHz network.
I tried to play with lot of parameters but without any success.
Is anyone already encountered this kind of problem?
So I guess that the first board was a N version and not an AC even if it was branded as AC ...
Happy to hear that your AC7260 WiFi upgrade had worked out for you!
