Modded BIOS and TPM? Halp (Sidenote: is UEFI good?)

#1 Post by cmanns » Sun Jun 30, 2019 11:45 am

I got a modded bios that has "everything" free.

However the TPM seems to not work (or I tried another TPM driver) but the device is now gone. I didn't pay attention to when this occured but now windows 10 is reporting the device security doesnt meet anything. Ideas?

Also should I switch to UEFI? I'm probably going to put in a SATAIII SSD in the SATA III HDD port to replace the 500GB HDD and dual boot Win10 and MacOS.

Generally speaking, you should disable TPM before AND after flashing a custom BIOS on your machine, because Intel Boot Guard finds a fake signature that does not belong to the manufacturer (lenovo).

UEFI booting has nothing to do with this.

Thanks for the info.

Should I re-flash to original BIOS and then re-flash the modded bios?

its T420_bios_1.52_NWL_ADV_0xE2_AES-NI_RAM_VBIOS_SIGN

Not sure the page/author at the moment was on some bios-mods site or so. System flys with the bios and I had fun tinkering with the settings.

Normally that's what you should do, original version first, then the modded one.
Any link for that BIOS?
