My T400 was gettin too warm for comfort...After using think fan control I realised that the fan was NOT always on...ISo I always insure that the fan is on when I start the Notebook ..by rebooting if necessary and checking in thinkpad fan control.
I there a faster way ...?
Is there a better power manager to use with T400(Dry Lemon...++) under windows 10.
Take a look at our

Fan control in windows10 --T400--to keep machine cool
Re: Fan control in windows10 --T400--to keep machine cool
Hello! Thinkpad Fan Controller is a very good application.
You just have to make some changes to TPFanControl.ini
I use it on a Thinkpad T520 and I did the following scheme.
Level 1 starts when the processor reaches 33 °C.
Level 2 is set to 38 °C
Level 3 = 44 °C
Level 7 = 55 °C
Level 64 = 66 °C
Level 128 = 77 °C
With this setting I can run any program without worrying about the temperature.
At the full load it doesn't exceed 72°C.
Read the instructions in TPFanControl.ini carefully!

Re: Fan control in windows10 --T400--to keep machine cool
I guess, default fan settings are much better option. Device uses the fan and changes its speed under the required situations. If cpu need to process high end programs then it will spin fan much faster then the normal condition.
