Rescue and Recovery, T500, Win7 Pro, Multiple Partitions
How to make RnR v4.30.0027 (or v4.52) work with C:(System), D:(Data), and E:(Backup) partitions?
Here we have a reconditioned T500 (2055-BE9, CTO, S/N R8-78FZR 10/04), empty 500 GB HDD, 4
GB Ram, with Win7 Pro 32-bit single operating system.
I have successfully installed Bios, PowerManagement, Modem, UltraNav, MultiCardReader, Hotkeys, IntelWirelessLAN, ThinkVantageAccessConns, LenovoDiagnostics, Audio, and IntelPro/1000LAN. No Bluetooth, Fingerprint, or Client Security.
Even with only a single C: partition, I receive the following message when installing RnR (either version): Error 25014 installing RnR boot manager. Return Code 6. Then it rolls back the installation, but there is nothing remaining that I can find to delete for the next attempt.
Once I received the following cryptic: Error 25021. The current RnR environment is newer than this version of RnR. To install RnR, obtain the latest version from the web. Then, trying either v4.30.0027 again, or v4.52, I still revert to the Error 25014 message above.
This machine arrived without any Lenovo Recovery Service partition, and I can not find 58Y3268 Recovery DVD’s anywhere to create one. My previous Lenovo Edge E531 (64-bit op sys and processor) worked well with (3) partitions as described above, using Win7 Pro 64-bit. It was a normal 6885-A2U.
Is RnR v4.30.0027 (or v4.52) incompatible with C:(System), D:(Data), and E:(Backup) partitions on this 2010 machine? Perhaps I am Insane, trying the same thing over and over again.
Can I just use PowerQuest Drive Image v7.03 monthly for each partition, and use Win7 Backup for system restore weirdness?
I have searched many places for answers. Help!

Re: Rescue and Recovery, T500, Win7 Pro, Multiple Partitions
Dump that 32-bit stuff.
Download this toolkit program to check that you have Slic2.1 in BIOS (i.e. the Lenovo W7-key).
If not, find a modded BIOS that has Slic2.1 and also has the wifi whitelist removed.
Look in the Repository thread in our Marketforum viewtopic.php?f=11&t=128170 and get the 64-bit T400/T500, Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
Installing this will wipe your whole HDD/SSD so backup any info you have on other partitions first.
When done, you can delete the Recovery partition, it is no longer needed.

This T500 has 32-bit Win7 because I need to run older 16-bit programs. 64-bit is NOT an option for me.

Hi, Link to the tooklit?
Does the Lenovo site have the BIOS files for the T500 with the Slic2 for win 7?
I'm trying to resurrect a couple dead T500s (both need new system boards) and I don't know what's on the BIOS for the replacement boards.

BTW, you asked this same thing already three years ago, did you not follow up then? viewtopic.php?t=123214
Ask TPFanatic if he still has that modded BIOS.

I can't remember what I ate for dinner three days ago, never mind 3 years.RealBlackStuff wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 2:31 amTooklit (???): https://www.afterdawn.com/software/desk ... oolkit.cfm

Now I remember. I do remember FUBARing a T500. Never had that happen on a T30, T61 or several dells. And now the 2nd one won't turn on either. Time for some replacement mobos, which is why i asked again.
I found the tooklit, hiding in a T500 directory of all places! You have to run it on a working machine, so I'll have to change out the planars, and start over. I also remember that putting a T61 HDD in an otherwise working T500 will start and run, with some driver issues, that can be sorted out. I'll have to do that when the replacement boards arrive.
I also found the BIOS file kits from someone named killer23d on the BIOSmods forum. If I remember, one flash worked and the other killed the board, but now neither will turn on. All the old sendspace files are long gone, but MDL and biosmods posts are still up.
Didn't Lenovo publish a BIOS revision for the T500s with Slic 2.1? Yes it would have had a whitelist, but I can live with that much easier than I can live with a bricked or no Slic table board.
I just wanted a known good starting point for a BIOS flash if the replacement boards do not have Slic 2.1 on them already.
