T480 how to boot into Safe mode

Anyone know how to boot at T480 into Safe mode?

Traditionally F8 or F12 gave that.

Traditionally there's a boot process long enough to play with those keys, but this computer goes quickly through a red Lenovo box into Windows sign-in dialogue box.

Bot is very fast on this machine, which has an M.2 SSD of PCIe flavour.

(M.2 is a little circuit card hiding in traditional HDD cage.
Various flavours exist, another Tower of Babel.)

With Windows 10, it's drastically different.

Click the Windows-button → Power.
Hold down the shift key and click Restart.
Click the option Troubleshoot and then Advanced options.
Go to “Advanced options” and click Start-up Settings.
Under “Start-up Settings” click Restart.
Various boot options are displayed. ...
Windows 10 starts in Safe Mode.

I have all my Win8 and Win10 PCs display a boot menu, even if there is only one option, precisely so that I always have the option to press F8 for advanced options, without having to complete a full boot first.

Thankyou.

I'll keep that for the future, as I don't expect Safe mode would fix the display problem and I don't know if external display works in Safe Mode.
