Can I replace the Turbo Memory module with an MPCI-e SD Adapter? (T400)

#1 Post by agregate » Sat Oct 24, 2020 8:31 am

I have a T400 that contains three MPCI-e slots, all taken by the WiFi, 3G and Turbo Memory cards.

I would like to know if it is possible to swap out the Turbo Memory (or even the 3G card) for something such as this:

https://www.amazon.com/JXSZ-Mini-Micro- ... B07GPSNJPQ

I've heard that these slots don't actually have data rails. Has anyone got experience in replacing these cards with slots for different memory formats?

The slot with the 3G card will definitely support that MPCI-e SD Adapter because it has USB signals wired in, and the Amazon listing states that the device is a USB device.
Planned Purchase: T480s i5-8350 FHD Touch
