T410 beeps on startup but boots normally

#1 Post by androidian5980 » Sat Jan 30, 2021 6:59 pm

Hi everyone, I'm brand new here. I've had this issue for a while now but just came across this forum, so I thought this would be a good place to ask for help. The problem I'm having is when I startup my T410, it beeps 5 times, pauses, then beeps 5 times again. Now I googled what this would mean and Lenovo themselves said that's a board issue, but it still boots into the OS. So it has to be something else. What I find strange though is that when the TPM is disabled in the BIOS, the beeps do not occur. But I do use BitLocker on my drive, so I do need my TPM enabled. Would anyone know how to fix this issue? I've never flashed a custom BIOS to whitelist anything. It's the latest BIOS from Lenovo.

Does anyone know what would be causing this?

Sorry, no. I've been driving a 410 for 3-4 years now and never ran into that

Apparently you can still use Bitlocker, even with TPM switched off: read this.
