Weird display problem

#1 Post by Ragnar » Wed Feb 10, 2021 6:24 pm

I have a weird problem with a t520. The output to the screen quit working. Once I cleared the cmos I could output to a monitor. But still nothing on the screen. Then I unplugged a plug on the motherboard and the screen works. Plugged in I get nothing.Unplugged it works fine. Below is a pic of the plug.
My suspicion is the nvidia gpu crapped out and despite being set to onboard graphics only the gpu is thwarting the output. But i really don't know.

Can you be a bit more specific?
Where does that cable go to?
Where is the location of that plug?
Your picture covers too small an area to get any decent view.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

That's the microphone webcam LED indicator cable, which I believe also contains the lid sensor.
So if that cable unplugged the problem solves, then I believe the lid sensor is your problem.
Apparently this is like the 2nd case in a month of such problem. Don't know why they out of all the components fail.
