Hello

I just bought a new 9-cell battery for my t400. It`s not a genuine lenovo model but its a good (i think) brand - MOVANO.

The battery holds up really well but the problem is that when it reaches around 10% the laptop suddenly turns off (it`s a hard shutdown, like holding a power button) when it should go to sleep.

After that I can still turn it on for a couple of min and then it goes to sleep like it should according to settings in the power plan.

Can anyone help me with this? I did battery reset in lenovo power manager and it didnt help...

It's the battery pack's fault. There's probably a bad cell inside. It's a bit difficult to explain without going on a long discussion of lithium-ion battery technology, but what basically happens is that the bad cell causes the output voltage to droop below the laptop's minimum operating voltage, triggering the shutdown.

I thought so too. Thank you for your reply. I`ll return this battery.
