Hi

I have some T420 laptop that need internet access.

I have found a slot behind the battery that should be for sim cards.
There is a white adapter right now.

Is it just to put in a sim card there?

beside simcard I think it also need a antenna of some kind.

If I remove cover to the memory slot at the buttom of the laptop there is a memory card and next to that, there is 2 connection cables but no card.
Is there need for a antenna card also?

The laptops have wireless card installed because the can use my home wireless internet.

Yes, that empty slot on the underside, next to the DIMM slot, is where a wireless WAN card would go. The stock cards were all 3G, and it's possible you'll find a 4G LTE card that will work, but you have to make sure it's USB over mini PCIe. That's a mini PCIe slot (same kind of connector as mSATA), but only mSATA hard drives and mini PCIe cards that use the USB signal pins on PCIe will work. It's probably gonna be hard to determine whether a particular wireless WAN card is the right type. Good luck to you!
