Hello all,

The T400 models have the same CPUs as the T500/W500 models, and they also share a lot of other components.

So, besides the size, the screen, the DisplayPort and the switchable ATI GPU, what are the differences in the spec and internals between a T400 and a T500/W500?

I think T400 and T500 have the same components but differs in size (and physical differences), screen and GPU. Beside this I think they are equivalents (Am I right?).

Many of the internal hardware components are the same, while most of the chassis parts are different.
You can see very detailed specs of the different models in the withdrawn model book:

Just search for T400 and T500/W500.

The batteries are also different and not interchangeable. I prefer the batteries that sit "flush" with the case. For T500/W500, such batteries are 6 cell. But for T400, flush-sitting batteries are only 3 or 4 cell, which results in ridiculously bad battery life.
