I've got a T60p and I'm wondering if I'll need to get a new dock or if my combo slim charger will work with the new T500? Anyone know for sure?

I was told by Lenovo that the dock and power charger are compatible between T6x and T400/T500. They weren't sure about the UltraBay devices though.

i believe all optical devices are out due to them changing to SATA... not sure about batteries and such

I thouhgt the new models came with displayport ... are you sure that the T6x docks/port replicators compatible with the T400/500?

yeah they are gator. In that PDF i think i saw that listed that they are compatible:

Page 4 lists the same one that we use now for our current docs (FRU is the same)

That's good to hear, another ac adapter change would have been outrageous.

I've got a T43... is that AC adapter the same as T6x?

What about batteries b/t the T6x and T4xx/T5xx?

The batteries are the same between T40 and R50. Different between T40 and T60. All are different from T400 and T500.

So my T43 battery would be useable in a T400/T500?

No, a T40 battery would work in an R50, not in a T400.
