I ordered a web special T410 and a Thinkpad Edge in the same order.
Both show Nov 11 ship date. Does anyone know if they will ship in the same shipment, or are they shipped separately? Can one laptop delay the others shipment?

My T410 order estimated ship date bumped again ... for the 3rd time.

To answer my own question above, I just got a shipment email for the Edge. The T410 still shows 11/11.

Well 2 seconds after I posted the previous message, I just got a shipment notification for the T410.

Original ESD was 2 weeks after the order date.

One day before the ESD, the ship date gets bumped up by a week (give or take a day). That happened a couple of times.

That's weird; my friends got their laptops within a month of ordering. One waited a month and two weeks, but that was for an option that said shipping would be delayed by four weeks (HD+ panel in a T510).

Did you order any options that were marked for an extended delay?

No, none of them said that there were delays. While placing the order it said it should ship in 9 days.
The only thing that is weird in my order is that the total price on the status page is only for the Edge. But I got 2 emails for shipment, and both computers show as shipped. I will know for sure tomorrow morning when tracking info becomes available.

Nope, nothing like that.

Just recieved confirmation that my T510 was delivered. I ordered it on 11/3/2010 and paid the extra $10 for UPS 2-day shipping. Recieved shipping notice on 11/8/2010 @ 08:00 and it was sent from China-NC, USA in about 26 hours! I think I got pretty standard configuration, so there weren't any delays to the build process.

It's our 5th Thinkpad, but the first in about 5 years.

Curious, did you get anything on the laptop you didn't order, like a finger scanner? They may of configured a bunch of these in advance of a big sale.

I'm curious why Thinkpads takes typically a week for delivery? Seems like these machinese are built to order....

Just to throw my experience out there with a T410 (configured with everything except mobile broadband and the smartcard reader)...

12/5: Ordered R400 from Outlet
12/27: Received notice of shipment
12/28: Received a T400 (yes, a T not R).

Details:

Ordered an in-stock "new" R400 from Outlet with a P8400 (2.26), 80 GB HD, 4 GB of RAM, and Vista Pro 32 bit on 12/5. Was immediately given a shipping date of 1/25.

Checked the status just before Christmas and noticed that the shipping date had changed to 12/29 and that the part# had changed.

Received laptop on 12/28. It is a T400 with a P8600 (2.4), 160 GB HD, 2 GB of RAM, and Win 7 Pro 32 bit. It also has a WWAN card.

The only two downsides I see are the reduced RAM and that the unit has a "Company Property" sticker on the lid that includes a 12 digit asset#. I'm assuming it was ordered and received by a corporate customer who at least kept it long enough to tag it. The OS was a factory image and there are no signs of wear. The warranty website originally showed a three year on-site, but that has since reset to a one year depot.

Overall I'm satisfied due to the mostly better specs and will be keeping the unit. If I were a picky person or needed an exact spec, I would not order from the Outlet since they at least sometimes make substitutions.

So... Im wondering if I should order a new T410/510 now or wait until later in the week after the CES announcements... does anybody here have some advice...?

Also, any recent leads on stackable coupons....? I see various coupons and codes but nothing more than 5% or 10% off.... also, can you order from Canada (Red Flag Deals) and have it shipped to the USA...? I assume there are no border customs issues due to NAFTA..??? Also, will Lenovo Canada accept a US based credit card and ship outside of Canada..?

Ordered a loaded T-410 in the evening of Jan.26th, received an estimated shipping date of 14th of February.
Was quite unhappy until Sunday, Jan.30th, when I received shipping notification, and it was delivered to me at 10.00AM sharp today.(I did pay extra for 2-day shipping).
Different coupons and student discount scored me a sweet deal on this one, and I feel it's going to last as long as it's predecessor.
I haven't had a ThinkPad since 2004(5), and that T-43 is still alive(except the battery, of course), and that was a gorgeous machine for those days(spare the price, of course).

I think I was a lucky Canadian Order, none of the horror stories I read came true.

Feb 02/2011 - Was the date I was expecting the notebook but instead this was the day it got into UPS hands

I am very happy.
Update: Maybe not - the laptop has the following issues
a) Dead Pixels
b) Hissing noise
But I got replacement for the entire notebook instead of a motherboard replacement (I was given a choice)... So hopefully no problems with this new one...

upgrading this with 8GB PC310600 1333Mhz Gskill Ram, Crucial C300 128GB SSD, Windows 7 x64 professional.

I ordered T410s on 27/2/2010, and initially they said that it would be shipped on 7/3/2010. Later on, they informed that there was a short supply of the Cable, and they would have to get it from the plant in China. So the new estimated shipping date is 14/3, all order shipping from China (I am in Sydney).

2 questions:
- I chose 32-bit Win 7. Is that a relatively bad choice? Most of the people go for the 64-bit.
- I chose 4GB memory (2 DIMM). Can I later on extend it to 8GB? Looking at the options available when I placed the order, like below

Just ordered a T520..

Must be one popular laptop.

I ordered my T520 on 3/29 but the shipping date has been deferred multiple times
already. First, it was 4/8 then 4/15 and it was 4/21 yesterday. Now, it's 5/11.
It's really frustrating to talk to the customer service who only gives mechanical
replies to questions. I thought I was talking to a robot at some point.

Seriously considering cancelling the order now but it's hard to find a replacement
which can beat thinkpad. Did anybody else have similar experience with the new
T520 ?

Ordered my T520 on May 2, 2011. Estimated ship date May 25th.

Interestingly, I ordered another T520 on April 12 and it was shipped on April 17th.

However, the April unit didn't have the free 4Gb ram and 500Gb hard drive, so it cost a bit more.

I'm going to swap out the 2x 2GB RAM sticks for a 4GB stick to save power (Every watt counts for pushing battery life) and I am going to throw in an Intel SSD. They have the lowest power usage of any SSD I can find.

Should get here first half of June. I'm hoping I won't be disappointed having used an X301 for a year at school.

I ordered on 5/26 and they're stating 6/9 for ship date. Is it going to be UPS slow-boat-from-china? I didn't see an option for faster delivery.

But several days later, the trasaction disappeared from my account.
It says it is shipped. But the UPS has not get the item so far.

what is the timeline..?
what do you mean "disappeared from "your" account..?

it might be that you order is in process..
without more info its hard to guess whats going on..

I checked the status and tracked through UPS. It has been shipped and the expected deliver date is 06/03.
But the charge has not yet been applied to my card.
Does anyone has similar problem? How long will it take to charge the fees?
