I just checked the customization page for the T400 and noticed they added the 2.8 ghz t9600 to the option. I couldnt help but notice that it was 275 dollars LESS to go with the T9600 than the 2.53 Ghz T9400 (the one that i ordered). Is this just another typo on lenovos part? Would they actually honor that pricing if someone ordered it while it was up there? Because if so i feel taken advantage of in some ways by lenovo having them charge me 275 dollars more for a lesser processor...

it's been discussed a few times and it's most of the time a matter of supply and demand. With the highest ghz some people (like myself) might not go for them in order to get better battery life (laptops, you know :) ) so then the price of the higher chip has to come down cuz there are too many of them stacking up.

Theyre both 35W though, would the 2.53 still increase battery over the 2.8? Maybe if they wont give me the upgrade to the 2.8 since i paid that price anyways they will refund me the difference between the two...I hate it when companies take advantage of consumers...

yea i called lenovo and asked them what they would do and they said they would give me the 2.8 ghz if i wanted it but it would delay it 3-4 weeks (go figure!)...Instead hes just gunna refund the difference in what i paid for the 2.53 and what it is now...theres no practical difference between the 2.8 and the 2.53 anyways unless i was doing high CPU usage software like architecture stuff which i wont....and besides my t400 will still be a "screaming machine" as the lenovo sales rep put it haha. He also said that he could tell that my computer just went into production today that has a scheduled ship date of august 26th and that the ship date would be updated in 2 or 3 days....sounds like it will ship early!
