This may be a very basic question but I am confused about these two models. They seem quite similar to each other. Is one considered to be a higher end model? Any advantages / disadvantages for a general purpose high end business laptop?
Thanks!

Doesn't one have ATI and the other nVidia?

So is the graphics card the main difference between these models?

I guess the T500 has a display port and T400 doesn't.

And somebody wrote here that it's not possible to switch between external and internal graphics cards in W500.
Basically:
T61 -> T500
T61p -> W500
The only difference is a more powerful graphics in W500 and it's possible to have WUXGA+ in W500. I'm not sure about the display port.
The price is also much higher in the mobile workstation (W500).

I am sorry...I guess i misunderstood the question that it was a difference between T400/T500...
As WojtekJ mentioned,WUXGA+ is one of the differences...
Also, i wonder why they don't allow you to configure >3GB RAM in a workstation - maybe not yet...
Does W series have the "Roll-Cage" technology? It doesn't explicitly say so...maybe the tabook would detail it... i don't know...

Somebody answered my question about 3GB-4GB in T500/W500:
when you choose Vista 64-bit, it'll be available in the configurator.
I have a BOX version of Ultimate 64-bit and I put the cheapest version in the configurator so I couldn't see 4 GB neither.
