Can the DisplayPort out from the new ThinkPads be connected to the HDMI input of HDTVs ?

Is there new docks for the T500 vs T6x/Z6x ?

Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort for more info on Display Port and some of the links to external sites where this is discussed. As far as I can see at a quick glance HDMI connectivity is NOT supported.

RE: Docks, you could check the TA book and see if the part numbers for the docks are the same.

Cheers, George

It looks like the DisplayPort - physical interface - itself can actually output hdmi or dvi signal, if supported by the video chipset to output those signals

There has also been announcements of chips to convert the signals, but I haven't seen a GA product yet: http://www.electronicspecifier.com/Indu ... rom-TI.asp

There currently is a DisplayPort to HDMI converter cable. I forgot the website that sells it, but I think it was like Antares Cables or something along those lines. It was $20 plus shipping.
