Remove 4-1 card reader on T400?

#1 Post by hsertic » Sat Sep 20, 2008 1:25 pm

Hi all,

Has anyone tried to remove card reader placed under pc-express slot? I was hoping that my unit will ship with pc-card slot, but instead I got card reader which I can not remove.

Is it possible to remove card reader and maybe gain access to pc-card slot?

Many thanks in advance,

Kind regards,

Hrvoje

I'm actually ordering a card reader separate off eBay to solve this problem. What's it called in the device manager, and what category is it under? I'd assume it is a PCMCIA one like the one I'm ordering, but, even if it is, you still have the case in the way.

I'd rather order an expresscard version...
All the PCMCIA card readers I've tried are way too slow.
