Re: T500 CAD experience?
There should be no difference in CAD between T500 and T61/T61p (the last one should be better in CAD than T500), so I suggest you asking on T61 subforum - there are much more T61/T61p than T500 on the market, so the probability that there's somebody there who uses CAD is much higher.holo wrote:Hi,

If you think about CAD on T500 - I suggest you buying at least WSXGA+ screen (or better WUXGA+).

Re: T500 CAD experience?
WSXGA+ is 1680x1050 and WUXGA 1920x1200, there is no WUXGA+. 14.1" T61 has maximum of 1440x900 or 1400x1050 resolution. Only 15.4" T61 and T61p and T500 have higher resolutions available.WojtekJ wrote:I suggest you asking on T61 subforum - there are much more T61/T61p than T500 on the market, so the probability that there's somebody there who uses CAD is much higher.

Yes - but the W500 and T500 are currently shipping with the same driver revision. I think that perhaps the distinction between certified and consumer graphics has gone away.
Graphics chip manufacturers used to disable the OpenGL compliant line-draw hardware in the consumer chips. I don't know if that is still the case - but I would be surprised if wireframe performance is a big issue for anyone any more.

It's just my typo, nothing more.732 wrote:WSXGA+ is 1680x1050 and WUXGA 1920x1200, there is no WUXGA+. 14.1" T61 has maximum of 1440x900 or 1400x1050 resolution. We all know that there's WXGA, WSXGA+ and WUXGA available in that 15,4" models (T61, T61p, T500, W500), so ...
I'm not mentioning 14,1" cause I don't believe it's a good solution for CAD.
If you read my text one more time, you'll see "the last one should be better in CAD than T500".holo wrote:But the T61p has certified workstation graphics (fx 570m) and the T500 has mainstream/consumer graphics (ati hd 3650)There should be no difference in CAD between T500 and T61/T61p (the last one should be better in CAD than T500)
You write the same I've already written - T61p will be better in CAD than T500 cause of it's graphic card.
