t500: where can i get the radeon 3650 drivers ?

OKay so I got my t500 and then i wiped the HD clean since UMich offers vista ultimate for 10$. After dealing with the pain of installing the drivers manually for every component i realized I didn't have any drivers for the graphics card. When I googled the problem it seems that i should use the mobility modder for the catalyst drivers. After attempting three or four times to use this and get the drivers working, it just wouldn't work so I uninstalled the drivers.

When i boot up i get the message: "incompatable display adapter disabled" or something like that, and in device manager the display adapters are listed as: "Standard VGA graphics adapter" twice, the first with an exclamation point and the second with nothing wrong with it.

I need the drivers for the graphics card and nothing i have done seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions?

I can't play games/do anything that requires high end graphics which is killing the productivity of my work....

Thanks,

Manish

you can find the needed drivers here ;)

EDIT: I have been using .NET Modder for a few months now without a problem for both FireGL and Radeon drivers. You have to make sure that your card is supported by Mobility Modder. If so, the installation problem could be related to the hybrid.

The graphics driver for Vista is called ThinkPad Switchable Graphics, so yes, you should use that one ;) It is indeed the graphics driver you are looking for. Don´t worry about the different name. It´s called like this because only Vista supports hybrid graphics for now.

Are you sure you have really installed it? After double-clicking the package you have just downloaded from Lenovo website it unpacks on your HD. Right after double-clicking the package it prompts with the default path where it unpacks. So, after unpacking it, you have to go to this folder and there you´ll find the driver, then run atisetup.exe (or whatever it is called).
In case you have already done all this in this exact order, there must be another problem with your install.

Good luck and post back
