  • 1. Go to: Start -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features.
    2. On the Tasks pane select ''View installed updates".
    3. Uninstall the update "Windows Vista Feature Pack for Wireless" KB942567.
    4. Restart your computer.
    5. Enjoy.
Recently my T400 started crashing with this BSOD. It crashed a lot. I did run memory tests, pulled RAM sticks out, made full diagnostics, read tons of logs, searched forums... I even did a clean install. No fix.
So I started a ''verbose" testing: on a clean install I carefully observed all the software and driver installations, compared driver versions and dates...

After crashing with "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" BSOD i checked the system logs in Event Viewer and it turned out that the crash was caused by too many TCP/IP connections.. So I figured out it had to be a software issue (or driver) with one of the network interfaces.

So what could cause so many inbound TCP connections? Filesharing. Because the Bittorent and other file-sharing protocols use a lot of incoming and outgoing connections. It is very likely that you have experienced this problem while running a Bittorrent client or a file sharing software.

Recently Lenovo added the Windows Vista Feature Pack for Wireless KB942567 Update to the ThinkVantage Update System.
This update can be supplied only by OEM manufacturers and it is designed for hardware which supports the new features. This is why this update won't list in Windows Update.

Further log analysis shows that the issue occurs on Intel network cards (IWL5000). So we should expect an update from Intel. Until then I strongly recommend not installing the update. The update itself is not security related, so don't worry, you won't be exposing your computer to any risks.
