Bioshock keeps crashing

#1 Post by popemobile » Wed Nov 26, 2008 3:02 am

I recently installed Bioshock onto my T400. The game runs well, but it randomly crashes and I get the message that the driver stopped responding and recovered, but the I have to reboot the game.

Is this a problem with my laptop, or is this a problem with the software?

I see you are running desktop drivers for this (VPU recovery is not in the laptop drivers, at least in XP?) I installed them after having BSODs. I have had the same problem in any 3d intensive game I play. Sometimes I play for hours without issue. I'm running XP, what OS are you on? Try alt-tabbing back into bio-shock and then pressing escape. It usually will come back after a minute or two.

I've been running Vista ultimate. Sometimes I can play for a few hours without it crashing, but lately it's been at most 10 minutes before it kicks me off.
