Hello All,

This will be my 3rd ThinkPad(previously T61P, X61t). I wanted to post to let those know that the Lenovo Outlet has really good deals now and then(so keep your eye on it). Here is what I got... it's a bit more then what I wanted...

• Vista Biz
• T9600(2.8 )
• 2x2G
• 160G
• WXGA+ LED w/ Cam
• Blu-ray Burner($1000 MSRP)
• I5300
• BT
• Fingerprint Reader
• 2G Turbocrap
• 9-cell
• ATI switchable graphics
• 7-1 Media Card Reader

All for $1800 shipped. Personally I don't think that's bad at all. I'm considering selling the blu-ray(if anyone is interested), putting a regular DVD burner in and upgrading the HD to a Hitachi 320G drive. The computer was a "Redistributed Model" which to my understanding means that it was never opened, but just returned by the customer. I'm excited, but I hope that this keyboard flex isn't a big problem that I keep seeing on forums. I may swap it with a T6X keyboard.

Let me know what you think!

That has got to be with EPP. Either that or he owns the company.

I got a slower GPU, no blu ray and pretty much everything else the same for 1800.

Even the OP went for a shorter warranty (I did 3 years protection) I still overpaid....and I used an EPP (which didn't do much b/c Lenovo's deal last week for the public was the same thing as EPP).

I'm checking prices now but if the OP's price is true, does lenovo do a price match?

Not to call the OP a liar but he had to of used coupons, EPP or a combination of the two.

If thats the case then that should have been mentioned and a link to the coupons should have been given.

At least that's the polite thing to do.

I think he's just pulling our legs.

I saw a few weeks back in the Outlet a R61 with a T8100, 2GB, a 7200RPM drive, Blu-Ray drive and SUSE for like $720. I almost bought it. I want the Blu-Ray drive(It's $400+ sold separately), but I don't want to give up the SXGA+ screen despite its low quality. I supposed I could swapped the drives between it and my R60, then flipped in on eBay. There are some good deals on occasion in the Outlet. Of course you could have had the same deal around March with the WXGA+ screen.

I spot crazy deals at their outlet store from time to time. You just need to spend a lot of time to look into every one of them. It's a time consuming process but you will be rewarded with deals like this if you are patient enough.

For the Lenovo outlet go here.
Sometimes insane deals can be had. You can certainly get a high end machine like the OP's for a reasonable price. But even better, at least in my opinion, is it to get a reasonable machine (i.e., not necessarily the fastest CPU, biggest drive, most RAM, etc.) for dirt cheap. I've seen T61p w/WUXGA screen for less than $1000 earlier this year and some R61s with a blu-ray drive for less than $800.

I was just fortunate enough to be on there and see it. I'm not a regular on the outlet(although it may seem because I always have a new machine.), but I believe in the 6 month rinse and renew cycle with my computers.

I'm wondering what would be a reasonable price to post the Blu-ray drive up for since there doesn't seem to be a huge demand because of the price. Anyone have suggestions?

Also, I've heard the advance mini dock works with this unit(250410U), but with some small issues. I have to see about this, but I remember reading that some BIOS updates takes care of it. I love having a dock so I think I may snag one of these... who likes plugging in 5 USB cables, network, audio and power all of the time?

There's one on eBay for about $925. I suppose the lower you price it the quicker it will go. You're almost better off selling your machine and getting one with Blu-Ray than buying the drive outright.

I have been considering purchasing a t61 or r61 on the outlet for quite some time now.

One time for $700 they had one with a T9300, 14in high res screen, etc, nvidia gpu, 9 cell, etc.

Does anyone know if an extended warranty can be added to an outlet PC, and what the pricing might be?

Yes, you can add warranty to the machine, but you have to call to find out how much it will cost.
