I have a T500 on the way which I ordered with the downgrade from Vista to Windows XP Pro. When I called Lenovo support to ask which OS the machine would boot and if I would receive disks for the other OS they could not tell me. Can anyone describe how the Vista to XP downgrade works? TIA

I recieved my new T61 laptop about a month ago with the XP downgrade It came preloaded with WinXP Professional. The hard drive had a recovery partition with WinXP Professional and I made a set of XP recovery DVD's. It has a Vista Business sticker on the bottom, but to get the Vista business recovery DVD's I had to call customer service to mail them to me free of charge. They were recieved promptly within a couple of days after calling customer service. I have not tried loading the Vista disks yet but they should be fine.

Ditto JP except in my new T400's case, I had the Vista CDs provided with the machine. I too haven't loaded the Vista CDs mainly b/c my computer is having problems waking up from prolonged sessions of sleep.

I'm calling Lenovo tomorrow....all my research points to a motherboard problem.

Hey nykobing06
I had noticed that also on my new T61, but what had happend I had installed Tweakui to automaticaly log on on boot up. After that option was removed it went away. I guess it caused conflicts with the power managment or security programs. I wonder if something that you may have installed is causing a conflict.

PS
I deviated from the subject of recovery but I hope this helps nykobing06

Thanks!
