2 NEW T500's with same problem

#1 Post by lhemmerich » Thu Dec 25, 2008 3:12 pm

I received 2 new T500's a few days ago & when I try to install a PCIMA card (verizon wireless card) it It will go in but will not seat. Hits smothing just short of seating. Both laptops do the same thing.

Anyone have this problem? Comments on what to do?

Is it possible you are attempting to use a PCMCIA card in an express card slot? The express card is not as wide as the more common PCMCIA type cards.

I don't know if I understand well, but I've got same problem with my old RS232 pcmcia adapter from ebay (china OEM). I can't plug into slot last few milimeters of PCMCIA. I've solved this problem that I removed little of plastic connector with knife on both sides and than it fits but I have to use more force than usual. My second PCMCIA adapter (LAN) fits well.
My roomate hasn't got problem with both cards in his Z60M. It isn't first thing what is wierd on my T500 :'(

Sorry for my english

My t400 feels like this sometimes. Is the expresscard slot just above the PC card slot like in the t400? I so, it seems like it's possible to get it in between the slots. Try inserting it angled toward the bottom the the laptop to make sure it fully enters the correct slot. If I don't, my cards seem to go in fine but get caught where the pins are.

Yes, my express slot is above the PC slot,BUT there is a metal plate between the two slots so you can not angle the card much. I have tried to angle but nothing works. I guess I will get an express card to see if it works

The manufacturing folks should be told of problem but I do not know how to send info to their QC dept

Thanks for all the comments
