T500 AT&T WWAN - NO SIM Recognized

I just bought a brand new T500 that came with the Verizon WWAN card. I bought the ATT WWAN card from Buy.com and installed it. I had to download the drivers from Lenovo, but it is finally showing up in Vista. The issue I am having now is that the SIM card from AT&T is not being recognized. The message I get keeps saying "The SIM card is not present. Insert the SIM card and try again." The SIM works fine in my HTC Shift and Advantage. Works fine in my Blackjack II. But the for some reason the T500 or the access software is not recognizing it. Though I swapped out the Radios from Verizon to AT&T, do I need to do something special for the SIM card slot to work? There was a factory installed piece of plastic in the slot when I bought it.

Any help would be much appreciated.
