T500 Volume fluctuations?

#1 Post by salin » Sun Jan 25, 2009 9:17 am

When playing a DVD, the volume fluctuates. Sometime I get a slight hesitation in the sound also. The DVD's play just fine on other players so I'm not sure what the problem may be.
Any thoughts on what to look at or, how to diagnose the problem?

I uninstalled the audio driver and reinstalled it with no luck solving the problem. Must be a hardware issue.
I guess it time to send it back to Lenovo.

It could be also some codec issue or bad quality of the DVD or of the recording. Does it happen with different DVDs of the same recording, different recordings? What player do you use? (FYI I use WMP with K-lite codec pack and have never experienced any problems with it...).

this happened to me while watching a ripped dvd movie, it turns out the rip was bad and the volume was ok with the other movies i have. recheck and see if it fluctuates at the exact same point every time, if it does then it must be the movie itself and not the hardware.. :)
