Different FRUs for T500 / W500 displays?

Hi,

I have a T60 and am thinking of upgrading to a T500 or W500. When I bought my T60 there was a lot of discussion about the Smasung vs the LG display and the lottery of which one you get. I have had both and can confirm that the LG is worlds better.

Now that i am shopping again I'd like to know if the same situation exists and what the preferred model is.

Are there still multiuple FRUs?

Is one preferred?

Is it still luck of the draw?

It all depends on the resolution that you choose...WUXGA comes with only one type of LCD, while WSXGA+ offers two...

However, parts list doesn't specify the manufacturer(s)...

I would be looking at the WSXGA+ 1680x1050.

If I recall correctly you couldnt tell which one you got until after you got ship notification.

Is it still the case that one of the two screens is much better than the other?
