1, Are there differences in speed/performance in the card readers of the T500 vs. W500?
2. On the T500, is the card reader any faster than adding a CF card reader to USB?
I plan to use the machine for processing photos using Adobe PS and Adobe LR 2, but biggest bottleneck seems to be in getting photos from CF card to HDD on machine. I shoot RAW files, probably 14-15mb each, and often need to offload 2-4 GB of files at one time. Using a desktop with 1394b, this takes 3-4 minutes, and I'd like to know if there is a comparable solution for an IBM Thinkpad.
I'm upgrading from T42, and have just received a T500 from the Lenovo outlet. It only had 2 GB of RAM(in 1 card I think), a T9400 2.53 processor, and 7200rpm 160GB HDD. It's not overwhelmingly fast at offloading CF cards using USB and I haven't tried the PC Card yet.
Any suggestions before my return period expires?
Thanks
Keith
