T500 - Frozen keyboard and mousepad

I recently installed XP PRO SP3 on a T500 and sometimes (not always) when starting the laptop the keyboard and mousepad is frozen, even the red mousebutton doesn't work.
The only way to get the laptop off is to hold powerbutton 5 seconds. Restarting the system often resolves the frozen keyboard and mousepad problem.
Someone an idea please ?

I found approx. the same issue here:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=70865
However i did install the Power Management driver (v. 1.51) before the Power Manager Utility, and I still have the frozen keyboard and mouspad problem.
I don't think this is the solution on the T500.

We have the same problem with 12 T500, tried just about any solution posted on the net, none of then worked. In the end i tried switching the keyboard from a T500 with the problem, to one without it, the freezing moved from one machine to the other(both machine had the exact same image deployed), so we're in the process of sending all the T500's with the freezing keyboard/touchpad back to lenovo for repairs now.

I have a few questions please:
1) How often did the ThinkPads "freeze"
2) Once you identified the problem what did Lenovo have to say? Did they agree that it is the keyboards? Or are they testing them to establish their own diagnosis before repairing them?
Thanks for your response.

It's difficult to say how often the laptops freeze, but let's say they freeze 1 time on 4 or 5 switch ons. Sometimes they freeze while working on it too, so after a "normal" boot.
I never contacted Lenovo uptil now because the laptops originally were installed with Vista and I changed them to XP.
Thought it had to do with the change of OS and therefor didn't want to contact Lenovo.
I tried to find a solution on the internet or on this forum.
As i read here, i could have something to do with the keyboard ?

1.Does a USB mouse work when the touch/track-pad is frozen?
2.Any BSODs?
3.You may also want to check out the even logger.
4.If a USB mouse works, you may try to identify the source of the freezes by using Process Explorer from M$ sysinternals.
5.Did you try using different versions of the UltraNav driver?
6.BIOS version?
7.Try uninstalling Lenovo keyboard customizer (if it´s installed), try uninstalling Lenovo Hotkey/OSD and see how the machine runs without them for a while.

We finally got an update on the T500 problem from Lenovo, they had 2 of out laptops at their lab for testing. Its the palmrest that was defect in our case, so we're on to the next step now, finguring out how to get them exchanged, hopefully they'll just send us the replacement parts, so we can swap 'em out ourself. We currently have 23 machines with the defect, out of 150 we bought in the first batch.
