T400 pointless whine!

Dears,
How do i manage to display the memory settings. I have a T41 with 1.5 Gb /1.6 GHz which runs much much better than this
Ladies purse.
My T400 is wxgs+ with 2gb, with wake up on lan disabled, wireless not wanted ,...and runs for 360 mins.

What do you mean? Low performance? Memory speed usually doesn't have much to do with that (amount of memory on the other hand...).
What OS are you running?

For the sake of completeness you can check the exact hardware configuration with
cpu-z. As
aaa pointed out, performance problems are almost never related to memory speed.

dears,
I have 2 GB(1+1) provided by lenovo and a nonfunctional 2gb intel cache(i dont knoe why they sold it to me.
the only differency i notice is the T61 is vanilla 14 " and this has a wide screen with wxga+.
oh , and the prcessor is p8400.
and yes, I have a better os (they sucked 50-60 US $ for that. They gace me a "downgraded windows xp service pack 2".
with a Vista serial number. I should have asked for the T400 without that and saved that money also. I have xp license for
a T41 (dated 2003 and now fried ).

So, what is your OS (XP or Vista)?
Intel TruboCache can work only under Vista and can also be a source of problems (but not necessarily). Maybe all you need to do is a clean install of your preferred OS, so you can get rid of all Lenovo applications you don´t need, they are well-known (to me) to make the computer feel slower. Alternatively, if you have XP installed right now, you can perform a custom factory restore. From there you will be able to choose which preloaded applications to keep and which not on your future system.

thanks, I will stick with my 6 cell T41 for serious work. The T400 will not feel neglected .I will use it play sudoku...
The T400 will get promoted only when my T41 is mutilated..I am waiting for the next OS from that company which Bill Gates used to work for.
