Welcome to the Forum!

Please be patient once you have posted a question. This forum is staffed by volunteers. People who contribute their time and expertise for free in the interest of giving back to the community, and helping one another. Therefore there is no particular response time once you have posted a question. Most of us will respond as quickly as possible once we log on.

Here are some answers for you.

1) I own a ThinkPad T400 and it's a very good model. The first batch of new T400's did have keyboards that were not quite as sturdy as what most ThinkPad owners are used to. However they were not defective, but rather just not quite as solid, therefore they had a little flex when typing if the keys were struck hard. Lenovo took care of this. I purchased mine about 2 months after they were introduced and mine is every bit as good as my older ThinkPad Keyboards.

2) Build quality is excellent and typical for a ThinkPad. It is well known that ThinkPads are very sturdy and long lasting, I've been using them for over ten years and have had many. They are exceptional when it comest to quality of materials used, and how they are assembled. However that said it's important to remember that when being reviewed, it's just one persons opinion of the particular computer they are evaulating and there is no brand of computer that satisfies everyone.

3) Based on my personal experience having owned several HP and Dell laptops, is that ThinkPads are far superior in every area. Not only is the computer excellent, but so is tech support, parts availability and warranty service as provided by Lenovos sub contractor.
