Question about External Monitor

Ok here is the problem. I am trying to have my T500 operate on external monitor and I have external mouse and keyboard too. After i plugged the monitor in, I press Fn + F7, and my laptop screen shuts off and monitor lights up. But when I close the lid of my laptop, the screen of my external monitor also shuts off. I already choose to do nothing when i close lid in power manager, but it jus dont standby or hibernate, but it still turns off the screen. Can anyone help me? BTW i have windows XP, and ATI3650 graphics card.

Hello, I also have this problem, it worked properly once, but now it always shuts off the external screen, its driving me crazy. Is there a known fix for this problem? thanks
