So one of my buddies at the barracks was telling me about this awesome wireless service he has through Alltel called Simply Wireless. He says it's fast and he plugs this thing into his computer to get this lightning speed. Well, I want that speed, but I don't feel like plugging an external device into my computer. Would it be possible to get the same package through Alltel, order a WWAN miniPCI-E card from Lenovo, and move the SIM card from the external device into the T400? As far as I know, Alltel rides off the Sprint network.

Sorry you cant Alltel is cdma based (recently aquired by Verizon just so you know) cdma phones do not use sim cards GSM based cell phones such as att and tmobile use sim cards in the us. You have 2 other options, research alltels external wwan dongles/pc cards and see if they are pcie i know several aprint broadband cards are actually pcie cards inside the dongle you may then be able to take apart the dongle and insert into think pad and use a custom bios (contact Zender) your other option is get a verizon wwan card and activate or see if alltel will activate that esn...good luck
