Called Tech Support on Audio ?

I have no audio when playing a DVD, but I do have audio when playing a CD. Audio works fine from the internet. I called tech support and they had me uninstall the Conexant Smart HD SmartAudio221, then reinstall it with no change.
They said I must need to install a 3rd. party driver to get the DVD to play with sound, but they could not assist me in which driver or from whom. I have played this music DVD many times in the past with no issues.
I have tried to play the DVD with Windows Media Player, and Real Audio.............no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
