Hi everyone. I finally found with the T400 I want.
2.8ghz processor
14.1inch WXGA+ with led backlight LED( LG spec), ATI GFX and all the various sundry bits as well.

Here is the question. The ATI card is not a "hybrid card" which I have seen on other models on the parts lookup. Will it still be switchable between onboard and descrete gfx use?

Thanks in advance everyone. Without this board, I would never be able to find out anything on thinkpads as lenovo reps have no useful info. Half the people on here should be on commission from Lenovo.

My understanding is that all T400s with ATI graphics automatically have switchable graphics too. I am not aware of any T400 configuration, nor was I able to find any in the tabook that would confirm the opposite.

EDIT: Additionally, reading your first post, I see that the laptop is 2764 L3B4153 (?) . AFAIK, all 2764 units come with switchable graphics.

I haven't been able to find anything to the contrary myself, but I also couldn't find any info on why some ATI cards are hybrid and some aren't. I guess I will see soon enough!

Just wanted to follow up. I have the laptop and it is switchable, even though it does not say hybrid on the vid card FRU.

all ATIs in T400/T500 are switchable

Notice that dedicated T400 / T500 are not switchable using docking DVI mode. When docked, it is only possible to supply dvi with the dedicated gpu. The only way to use docking station dvi with integrated docking is to buy a integrated only gpu model.
