Hi,

just got my new T400 yesterday. Everything was fine at the first start-up (expect a very noise power adapter (which can be changed)).
then i tried to start up the notebook for the second time - nothing happened!!! it won't start (with or without battery....)...... also the battery led and the power led are not working ...totally dark ....
any suggestions? i have 3 years on site warranty .. but it's not registered yet - so i have to wait.......

thanks for your help

Since my T400's adapter does not produce any discernible sound, just heat when it actively charges the battery, I suspect yours may be the cause of your problem.

Can you describe the sound it made?

it's a high pitch noise.....
like this: http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/mess ... ad.id=6586

but it won't start with a fully charged battery either.....so i don't think its the adapter....

That in my opinion, justifies a new replacement model to replace the one you have. I would immediately call Lenovo and request a that it be done.

OPPS, I Think you'd better call lenovo immediatly.
I believe the noise is not normal.

Lenovo had been very good in my personal experience when you get a bad computer, they make it a real priority to get a new one out to you as soon as they can. I would take this in a positive light.

Cheers...
