Opening up Thinkpad, replacement nylon screws?

Hi,

When opening up your Thinkpad to, for example in my case check the RAM, would you recommend replacing the nylon coated screws by buying some from Lenovo directly? Or is it indeed not necessary for one or two simple openings up?

Thanks very much for your help.

I wouldn't worry about it for a couple of openings as long as there is some nylon left on the screws and that they do not screw in too easily (loose). You want to feel a slight drag/resistance while screwing them in.

Thanks for the quick answer. I just ordered some new RAM now so I'm looking forward to installing it.
