T400-docking station-HP printer

I have a T400, a mini-dock, and an HP 2300d. Until I updated Vista, I could come into the office, put the Thinkpad in the dock, and print. Now it doesn't recognize the printer, and nothing short of a complete system restart will make it recognize it. Has anyone found a solution to this?

What happens if you turn the printer off and then on again?
T61p 6460-67G; 15,4 WSXGA+ W7P x64, no hairdryer.
T43p 2668-G2G, 14,1 SXGA+, XP Pro, internal hairdryer
