T400 disable touchpad in Windows 7

Hi,

I'm testing out the W7 RC and I'd like to know if anyone has information for me on how to disable the touchpad. I hate it with a passion and I only use the TrackPoint. In XP, which is what my T400 came with, Control Panel's Mouse properties has a tab for TrackPoint and touchpad settings, where you can disable either. 7's Mouse properties just has Buttons/Pointers/Pointer Options/Hardware tabs. If anyone has info on how to get it to realize that I have 2 navigation options and I want to disable one of them, it would be great.

Thanks

It may depend on the machine, but on my T61p, you can disconnect the touch pad, set the connector to one side, and re-install the palm rest. Then it isn't there. This works (having inadvertently done it) but is not particulary a pretty way to do it. ... JDH

Yeah, thanks for the solution, but I'm looking for more of a software solution.

there should be an option in the BIOS setup program to disable the touchpad. press F1 when the logo appears on screen after power on. just did that on my R60 since i couldn't get the ultranav utility to work in Windows 7 RC1.
