Do all T400s have backlight screens?

I would like to order a refurbished T400 from the Lenovo outlet and noticed that some say CFL backlight and others do not say anything about a backlight. This may be a dumb question, but do are all T400s backlit in some way? When ordering a laptop from Lenovo's normal website all of them say that they have at least the CFL backlight but on the outlet website many do not say anything. I figured this was probably just due to how they are listed on the outlet website.

I understand that all LCD screens have a backlight, either CCFL or LED. If it doesn't say it's LED, I would assume it's CCFL.

Yep -- they all have backlights. The way these screens work is that they're translucent and the LCD crystals change the color of the light that shows through. Without the backlight, they'd just be dark.
CCFL is an older technology, and is the "default" so unless it says LED that's probably what it is.
