Lost On Screen Display on T400 running Vista Home Basic SP1

T400 running Vista Home Basic SP1

I went to:

Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Personalization > Adjust screen resolution > Advanced Settings... > On Screen Display

I have the On-screen display checkbox checked.

• Font: Arial
  Size: Medium
  Fadeout: 3
  Color: black

Oddly enough each time I go back the Size dropdown does not retain my selected value and is blank.

When I increase LCD Brightness, I get a tiny dot where I once had the OSD.

Any thoughts to how I get OSD back again?
