Here in Norway there is rumors that Microsoft and some computer manufactures is giving free upgrade to Windows 7 when it will launched in
October to all customers that buys a computer after 26 June with Vista Home Premium or better.

Any information if Lenovo will offer this?

You'll have to wait until the 26th of June. Lenovo might announce what they're doing on that date or shortly after...

holy cow. i just bought my X200 with vista business. so does that mean i won't get a free upgrade to win7?

the arstechnica article says this:

Between June 26 and July 11, you will be able to prepurchase some Windows 7 versions: $49.99 for Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade and $99.99 for Windows 7 Professional Upgrade

I was originally hoping my new T500 would arrive with an invoice date after June 26 (which may have given me upgrade leverage), but I just saw today that it will be delivered before then... ah, well I'm still happy!

perhaps lenovo will give free upgrades depending on the models? like X200 & X301... i've already paid an arm and a leg for my X200, so if they can give a free upgrade that would be the best.

This is not the ideal solution, but MS will likely be offering free full copies of Win7 at the end of some touring seminars later this year. There may also be some online presentations that offer a copy after watching. (At least this all happened with Vista)

I spoke to a Lenovo rep yesterday, trying to get some more information on the upcoming T400s, and when Windows 7 came up, the rep confirmed that Lenovo would begin their Windows 7 upgrade program on June 26th. See my post on page 3 of the T400s thread.

Thats good news.... I was waiting for that. I will wait ordering my new T400 then.
