Here is the background info and some symptoms:
**Background**
I tried installing this mouse without using the dongle it came with (because that is just annoying, much nicer to have it just work...and it did with the internal bluetooth on my T60). I have the dark blue BT tray icon active and associated with the Thinkpad Bluetooth. The symbol is white, not red or green. The power to my BT receiver is on (the Fn+F5) and the physical indicator light is on. I right-click on the tray icon and go to "Add a New Bluetooth Device". Then I hit next, turn on my mouse, set it discoverable mode (LED flashing red, green), and the software finds my mouse:
I select it and hit next...a popup comes up saying "Confirmation Required" to make sure it is connected. It tells me to move the mouse to confirm connectivity...but the light on the mouse is still flashing and I cannot control the cursor with that mouse. The process then ends (or maybe crashes), and the connection doesn't work.
But, if I use the dongle, the whole thing does work. So I know that the mouse hardware should be fine.
The problems that are related to this that I have found on this forum deals with the Microsoft Bluetooth Software Stack. Here is my device manager:
I can't disable the enumerator (option is shaded out). I tried installing the latest version on the Thinkpad Driver Matrix for the T400 and enforcing the installation of "C:\DRIVERS\TPBTooth\Win32\drivers\btwusb"
Still, no luck. I have connected my Nokia E51 phone with this bluetooth, so I'm not sure what's different. Any ideas?
Thanks.
