Yeah, they do change the IWS status sometimes.

When I imported my T61 (7664-16U) from the USA, it had no IWS. When i checked 9 months after the purchase, it did have 1 year IWS. I thought "Hmm, that's nice"

Two years after the purchase the fan broke down and I checked the IWS page again... Suprise: 3 years IWS.

Anyway, I still paid the new fan myself, since they wanted me to ship my laptop in for repairs to my country's repair depot... no way.

Well, my decision about replacing my trusty old R50e with a shiny new T400s (or maybe the upcoming T410s) was taken out of my hands this week: a bank I do some consulting work for gave me a shiny new X200. It's probably not as nice as the upcoming T410s, but I can't really justify having three ThinkPads...
