Anyone else hate their t500 wsxga display?

Okay, I had a bit of an issue with the first t500 I bought from the outlet - it was supposed to have the wsxga+ screen, but showed up with the wxga screen.

After about a month of wrangling, I ended up with another T500. Better specs, very little price difference. It showed up friday.

The problem is - the wsxga+ screen on the new T500 is SUBSTANTIALLY dimmer than the WXGA screen on the first T500.

I had the wxga screen about two notches below full brightness. The wsxga+ screen is at full brightness, and its not even comparable -- I would need about five more notches to equal it.

Anyone know what is happening here? Did I just get a bad display, or are some of these displays crap?

Any advice is appreciated!

The WSXGA+ displays on my T500's (two of them) are stellar. However like any other manufacturer that buys their parts from vendors, it is possible that you have a defective one. That is why your computer comes with a warranty. You may want to consult with Lenovo tech support.

Cheers...

First Post!

I think the T500 WSXGA screen (1680x1050) screen simply are not as bright as the other LCDs. Mine are the same. I have 2 T500's and they are both not as bright as other screens. I don't think they both "faulty", just not as bright as other panels.

Otherwise I'm very happy with the screens.
