T400: broken plastic in USB port?
T400: broken plastic in USB port?
hi everyone,
in a recently bought T400. one of the usb-ports just failed. when pulling off a MF628-umts-modem, the plastic nose from the port stuck inside the plug. when lenovo was called up about it, they quoted a ~130€ repair fee, and suggested that this was most likely caused by the user, and that the customer would have to prove otherwise.
I quickly checked around on the net, and found this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=350291
apparently, it is not a single case. anyone else having the problem?
thanks,
w

I have had the same problem. Currently looking for a replacement connector (I've soldered the old ones off the system board) See this post on notebookreview
T440s (FHD, 12GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 6+3cell), T400 (14.1" 1440x900), X200s (WXGA, Camera), T61 (14.1" WXGA), R60 (15.4" 1400x1050), 600, 701CS (x2), 760CD, 700C (x2), 570, 570e
Re: T400: broken plastic in USB port?
They are the same as those on T61. Busted T61 boards are more common
