hi everyone,

in a recently bought T400. one of the usb-ports just failed. when pulling off a MF628-umts-modem, the plastic nose from the port stuck inside the plug. when lenovo was called up about it, they quoted a ~130€ repair fee, and suggested that this was most likely caused by the user, and that the customer would have to prove otherwise.

I quickly checked around on the net, and found this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=350291

apparently, it is not a single case. anyone else having the problem?

thanks,
w

I have had the same problem. Currently looking for a replacement connector (I've soldered the old ones off the system board) See this post on notebookreview

They are the same as those on T61. Busted T61 boards are more common
