Is there a new model T500S in the works?

#1 Post by aw » Tue Aug 25, 2009 6:32 pm

Does anyone know if Lenovo is going to release a t500s, aka the thin body T500 equivalent of the t400s?

I saw a reference to it here, under the supported systems list:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-70990

Typo? Leaked info? Common knowledge?

I've had several thinkpads, and I have been pretty happy with them, but I want a bigger, brighter screen, with good color, AND thin and reasonably lightweight for the size. The MBP 17" is calling my name... but if the T500s is coming out soon I might have to wait.

I apologize if this has been discussed before (I couldn't find the info if it was).

I'm waiting too. Nursing my T43 and holding out for the next hardware revision. My main frustration with the T500 was the awful screen contrast (bought one and returned it). Would be nice to see if they offer new screen options on a revision. At very least would be nice to have the screen centered like they did with the T400s. Better battery life, and other spec improvements would be welcomed as well. Looks like it could be after Windows 7 starts shipping on PCs and the new Intel processors come out later this year. Just guessing.
