Swapping WUXGA from W500 into T500?

#1 Post by skrypj » Wed Sep 02, 2009 1:18 pm

Has anyone tried this, I am at school and have a T500 while the freshman class just recieved W500's(not WUXGA) and everything externally appears to be the same, so is this possible? Im interested in the higher res for Pro/Engineer.

Thanks a lot

PS. How hard would it be to find a new screen bezel and put a web came in? I might as well now while i have it apart if possible.

I found a parts list at the Lenovo support site and it list both the W500 and T500 as products that use the screen.

The screen cost like $430 dollars from lenovo

Has anyone ever heard of Leonworks? I found their screens on EBay for cheap and was not sure if they are the actual manufacturer of the screen. Here is a link:

I could not find anything on google about them.

Thanks
