T400 (high-nit) vs. T500 (LED)

I'm trying to decide between the T500 (WXGA, LED) and T400 (WXGA, high-nit LED). I'f you've seen both, do you have any impression on how they compare in terms of image quality and viewing angle?
EDIT: For that matter, if you've only seen the T500 LED and can compare it to other T400/T500 screens, it would be appreciated.
Thanks

haven't ever used the T500 LED, but high nit panel is my favorite in the T400 line. It is a higher quality screen than WXGA+ panels used in old T400 and the T400s. It has much better contrast, brightness and viewing angles.
here it is side by side with T400 WXGA+ LG screen (high nit is on the right) and an NEC desktop monitor that has an IPS panel.

I was very disappointed with my T500 WXGA/LED. Maybe I just got a bad one or maybe that is commong. The contrast was very low and the dark colors were not particularly dark. Images looked all washed out. If I dimmed it enough that the darks finally looked dark, the brights were also rather dark. I couldn't stand it. Pretty much any other screen of any other PC looked better. I took a $140 hit and returned it.

Thanks. I appreciate the comparison. The shots are pretty helpful.

Comments on impressions of screens are bound subjective, of course. That one really says something, though. I don't think most users (of anything but gaming machines) are inclined to settle for a restocking fee without something pretty disappointing. Thanks.
I'd appreciate any other comments - especially if you've seen both. Really wish I could see them in person (only seen the Y450 w/LED in person, and it's pretty impressive for the price).
